Heavy Machines Inc is Hiring a Payroll Specialist Near Memphis, TN

  • Must have solid knowledge of payroll laws and regulations and have demonstrated basic level payroll technical skills in a variety of areas including, payroll processing, reporting, account reconciliations and performance of SOI controls
  • Process employee data (new hires, changes, additional earnings, and benefit deductions) to SOI, ensuring employees earnings and deductions are accurate, and in compliance with tax and legal requirements and Company established guidelines
  • Ensure company and team policies and procedures are followed and that payroll is processed timely, accurately and in compliance with government regulations and SOI requirements.
  • Support various department projects and initiatives to ensure efficiency and accuracy of the organizations activities.
  • Perform file uploads/interfaces between SOI and Fidelity
  • Look for ways to streamline processes, creating efficiencies and improving accuracy
  • Analyze, balance and prepare basic account reconciliations every month
  • Support internal and external payroll inquiries as necessary by researching and responding appropriately
  • Prepare manual checks as needed
  • Assist with the audit requests from the SOI and Internal Audit Team
  • Document payroll procedures and update them as changes occur
  • Appropriately deduct and report 401K, FSA, Insurance and other
  • Handle basic aspects of processing payroll including wage garnishments, leave of absence calculations
  • Enter and reconcile insurance premiums to accounts payable (CDK)
  • Reconcile and post payroll to the General Ledger
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Must have great attention to detail and ability to meet payroll processing and month-end deadlines.
  • Must be able to handle and manage sensitive and confidential information with the utmost professionalism and act with the highest ethical standards.
  • Must be able to effectively interact with cross-functional groups across the organization including Human Resources, Accounting, and IT.
  • Must provide excellent service to internal and external customers and demonstrate a sense of urgency in their responses while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software, CDK accounting, SOI payroll and Fidelity web-based applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have solid organizational skills and strong ability to multi-task

  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Preferred four (4) years Payroll/Benefits/HR administrative experience
  • Preferred experience with ADP, SOI or Paychex
