Central Elementary School, K-4 is seeking an energetic, creative and dedicated school nurse, beginning in the school year 2024-2025. We are looking for a team player who places childrens needs first. The School Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care and wellness checks for students, along with maintaining student medical records and being a resource to students and staff.Responsibilities include: Providing nursing assessment, treatment, first aid, and emergency careAdministering and monitoring medications that are taken at schoolMaintaining comprehensive and confidential health records for students that are compliant with federal, state, and local regulationsMust remain proficient in current technology for health record databases used throughout the districtEnsures all student vaccinations are up to dateManaging communicable diseasesConducting annual hearing and vision screeningAssessing and planning for students with health-related concerns which may affect learning (EST, 504, IEP participation)Communicating with families and staff regarding health-related issuesProviding families and staff with health-related resources and referralsPromoting school-wide wellness through health educationOversees Health Education Case manages Medical 504sMember of Crisis Team -Vermont RN License-Must have or be able to obtain a Vermont Educator's License with School Nurse endorsement.-Public School Nursing experience highly desired
