Grafton Elementary School is seeking a .6 dynamic, solution-focused professional to join our educational community as School Counselor. This individual will support the academic and social/emotional development of students in grades K-6 through individual, small group, and whole group classroom SEL lessons. In addition, this individual will be able to effectively work as a member of a team, be responsible for the development and monitoring of 504 and educational support plans, offer consultation to teachers, and build strong relationships with families and community partners. The position will include district-level work as a .4 FTE Home to School Liaison.
Home to School Liaisons work closely with families and students on improving student attendance, accessing community resources and improving school engagement. Duties will include supporting the pre-K/early childhood and Saxtons River Elementary School student populations, as well as working as part of the WNESU Home to School Liaison team.Experience with a Social Emotional Curriculum, PBIS, Trauma Informed Practices, Responsive Classroom and Restorative Practices is desired. The successful candidate will also be collaborative, a good problem solver, possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate the knowledge and disposition that supports children's varying and unique needs.A Vermont educators license Level I or Level II with a school counselor or school social worker endorsement is required.Individuals should apply via School Spring and include a letter of interest, a resume, evidence of Vermont certification, transcript(s) of degree(s), and three current letters of reference.
