Summary:

The Program Director oversees operations in both Danville and Lynchburg, VA, but is primarily based in Danville and will require weekly travel to Lynchburg. This role ensures quality services and implements growth and diversification efforts in alignment with corporate goals, philosophies, and values. The candidate must have case work experience, while possessing the exceptional ability to solve problems, take calculated risks, inspire confidence, and facilitate communication.

  • Flexibility: You will adjust priorities to manage multiple demands and unexpected events, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying areas for efficiency improvements and promoting ongoing staff development will be a key part of your day.
  • Performance Management: You will communicate performance standards, provide constructive feedback, and hold staff accountable for their performance.
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication will be essential to convey information clearly, facilitate open dialogue, and manage conflicts and crises.
  • Relationship Building: Building and maintaining effective relationships to share information, establish partnerships, and leverage expertise will be key to your role.
  • Staff Management: Your workday includes recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising staff. You will conduct regular meetings and individual supervision sessions to guide and support your team.
  • Case Management: Overseeing referral, intake, assessment, matching, and placement of clients will be a daily task. Ensuring compliance with case management activities is crucial. You will also cover cases as needed to ensure continuity of care. Responsibilities include creating social histories and initial plans of care for clients.
  • Operations: Managing daily office operations, providing training to administrative staff, and ensuring phone and office coverage during working hours will be part of your routine. Additionally, you will assist with submissions to Magellan and billing processes.
  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with regulatory, contractual, corporate, and legal requirements will be a significant aspect of your workday.
  • General Duties: You will regularly communicate with the Executive Director, maintain positive relationships with partners and contractors, and ensure accurate information gathering and communication.

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in social work (MSW) with three years of casework experience and one year as an administrator/supervisor.
  • Or, a Master’s Degree in a related field (e.g., sociology, psychology, special education, counseling) with four years of casework experience, including two years with children and families in a child-placing agency, and one year as an administrator/supervisor.
