Purpose: The Safety Manager will maintain compliance and safety standards for all areas of the company. The role of the Safety Manager is to act as a resource for employees about how to uphold regulatory safety standards and complete tasks while limiting risk of bodily injury. This is employee will share knowledge with their team by conducting training and creating informational materials to post around the workplace.
Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
- Maintain current records for FMCSA and OSHA.
- Daily review of driver’s hours and compliance.
- Keep current records of driver requirements (medical, license, etc.)
- Review all roadside inspections and validate repairs are completed when necessary.
- Monitor driver safety bonus program and determine eligibility both quarterly and year end.
- Investigate truck accidents and act as liaison for all insurance company requests.
- Contact and coordination of all civil actions due to accidents.
- Document and investigate all incidents/accidents.
- Coordinate care with assigned providers if needed because of an incident/accident.
- Conduct monthly/yearly safety meetings.
- Schedule and conduct employee training as needed or required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3 years’ experience in similar role
- 5 years’ experience in transportation/FMCSA compliance
- 5 years' experience in OSHA compliance
- Past certifications from any relevant agencies
- Ability to make decisions to maintain compliance with the dispatch team.
- Able to work independently and make decisions without input when needed.
- Ability to drive change and achieve results.
- Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms.

Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and will take occasional after hour calls.
