Writes key messages (e.g., value proposition, differentiators) and generates new ideas on how to convey the message. Performs research on target clients and analyzes client needs to ensure the proposal messaging is on target with the firm's priorities. Participates in the provision of qualifications, biographies, and specialized content as needed. Conceptualizes original content and writes proposal sections. Level: A Manager (M3) manages experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in assignments. Responsibilities typically include: • Policy and strategy implementation for short-term results (1 year or less). • Problems faced are difficult to moderately complex. • Influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices and procedures. Typical Title: Proposal Development Manager The Senior Manager Proposals is a crucial strategic sales support role within the organization and involves working closely with Healthtech’s internal business lines to prepare and present effective bids and proposals on behalf of Healthtech. This individual is looked at an expert in Pursuit Management, with knowledge and experience in Digital Health and is expected to add value as a subject matter expert to the business development and proposal process. The Senior Manager Proposals will manage complex pursuits according to a defined process from strategy and content development through proposal submissions, presentations, and any other deliverables related to the opportunity. They will coordinate diverse pursuit teams, creating and reinforcing project plans to ensure we are bringing our best to every pursuit and are fully compliant in every respect, resulting in memorable and compelling proposals that drive new business. Key Responsibilities The Senior Manager Proposals will have the following key responsibilities which include, but are not limited to: Leadership and management of the process for bids and proposals, working closely with our clients and internal stakeholder teams through the bid life cycle to deliver a compelling offer to our clients to help win business. Manage, influence, and mentor while leading the Proposal team members, supporting efficiency and team goals while ensuring alignment with the Healthtech vision. Understanding the needs of the client and concisely creating resumes, proposals, and requests for proposals (RFPs), that convey Healthtech’s approach to delivering best-in-class people, products, and services in a way that is understandable and engaging to healthcare organizations. Overseeing the team during the bid process ensuring deadlines are met. Overseeing the development of proposal and presentation materials to ensure consistency and adherence to proposal and presentation requirements. Working with key members of the team and the client organisation to obtain the information required to compile the bid. Writing high-quality bids and proposals through obtaining and editing content from internal subject matter experts. Thorough understanding our business and reviewing bid sites for appropriate RFPs Responding to clients’ and other stakeholders’ queries before, during and after the bid has been submitted. Ensuring strict record keeping and the full use of Healthtech’s CRM to record progress and documentation around specific bids. Establishing and managing Healthtech’s proposal library to house resume tools and templates for easy access and reuse. Helping to manage Procurement Frameworks and review incoming Requests for Proposals Analyzing data and leveraging insights to identify operational improvement, implementing recommendations, and tracking success. Creating and maintaining proposal development tools and templates across business lines Serving the client partnerships team with other sales support and enablement activities as needed Directly managing, mentoring, and developing a team of direct reports with emphasis on creating a team and culture that is empowered to execute. Working on projects that may be assigned on an ad hoc basis and may assist other corporate initiatives as necessary. Skills and Experience Degree in a relevant discipline 7 years of experience directly managing large accounts and bid processes within a consulting environment. 4 years of people management experience Results driven. Proven track record of leading a team to deliver results. Understands the bidding process and can effectively manage bids. Digital health subject matter expertise. Ability to interpret and respond effectively to RFPs and proposal-related requests. Possess good verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the organization and to engage and facilitate across multiple stakeholders. Driven to move quickly and motivated to win. Healthcare IT industry experience preferred. Organized, with strong attention to detail. Thrives in a busy environment. Ability to prioritize workload. Ability to motivate a team (previous people management experience desirable). Able to, and comfortable with, working to tight deadlines. Strong self-motivation and be able to work independently. Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite. Additional Details Hybrid working location at our Corporate Office in Toronto Occasional travel up to 5% of time.
