SUMMARY

We are looking for an Event Manager to lead and innovate exclusive member experiences at OFCC! The Event Manager is responsible for the club’s event management strategy and execution of all events. This position will develop event contracts and oversee all administrative and operational aspects of preparing and serving events while leading the events team. Our events team provides very personalized assistance to our members by providing a “high-touch experience” which includes helping the host in almost every aspect of their event. Additionally, the Event Manager will be responsible for supervising and developing the skills of the Event Assistant Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meets and plans all future catering events with members and guests, including social and corporate events, while effectively communicating all information to operational staff for the proficient execution of each event
  • Ensures that all events are planned from start to finish in a uniform manner
  • Provides tours of the facilities and discusses booking logistics, room options, and menus with members and potential guests
  • Meets weekly with the Food & Beverage department to review upcoming events and parties (BEO-Banquet Event Orders)
  • Collaborates with the Executive Chef, F&B Managers, Facilities, and other team members to review the format and details of events
  • Prepares in advance and distributes all banquet event order specifications and validates that all contractual obligations are being fulfilled before the event
  • Communicates any cancellations of events, new events, and last minute changes to events with the Food & Beverage team
  • Controls, preserves, and blocks requested banquet space in the master calendar and the banquet system while following proper and accurate booking procedures
  • Implements policies and procedures for further improvement of the events team
  • Undertakes special projects and other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Food & Beverage.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Strong operational mindset with the ability to create easy-to-follow standard operating procedures to ensure operational efficiency and member satisfaction.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field preferred or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in event planning or event management
  • Great planning, organization, prioritizing and time management skills
  • Strong leadership and motivating skills including the ability to build strong relationships with members and employees
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays
  • Must have great customer service skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people

EXPECTED WORK HOURS

  • This is a full-year, full-time position.
  • Required to have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays based on Club needs.
