Cape Cod Academy (CCA) is a selective, independent, coeducational day school educating students in grades K-12. Located on 45 acres in Osterville, MA, Cape Cod Academy serves students and families from towns across the Cape and just over the bridge. Established in 1976 after the closing of the Friendship School and Sea Pines School, CCA is committed to offering a personalized approach to learning (PAL) in all our classrooms. The foundation of the PAL Program is knowing each student so that instructional methods and techniques can be adapted to the student’s learning process, making it the right fit for each individual learner. Programming includes student seminars, independent work, hands-on exercises, advisory meetings, and wellness activities. When students leave CCA, they are fully prepared to enter college as confident self-advocates for their own learning.
Your completed application must include a cover letter, resume, two or three written letters of recommendations signed by the recommender, and copies of all undergraduate and graduate transcripts.

SummaryCape Cod Academy seeks a dynamic and innovative part time librarian for the Lower School (grades K-5). This librarian will fulfill various roles to ensure students effectively access and use information, teach library classes for grades K-5, and work in tandem with the Upper School Librarian to update and implement the school's digital citizenship curriculum.
The Successful Candidate WillBuild collaborative relationships with faculty and staff to assist with curriculum development, especially around literature and research
Have a passion for and current knowledge of children's literature and be able to inspire that in others
Teach library class weekly to students in grades K through Grade 5
Collaborate and co-teach with fourth and fifth grade teachers to instruct students in all matters related to research and inquiry, citation, information gathering, evaluation, and synthesis
Internal consultant for professional development, curriculum planning, and instruction as it pertains to information literacy and technology
Strong ability to communicate and work collaboratively with faculty, students, parent volunteers, and administrators
Oversee general collection and cataloging activities to manage and curate Library materials
Convey patience and empathy with children
Incorporate multicultural materials and resources into lesson planning and library collection
Contribute regularly to the Seahawks' News so that families are informed on how the library program is integrated into the daily life of the Lower School
Possess a sense of humor and a love of children
QualificationsMaster's preferred or certificate in library science
Previous library experience required, preferably in an elementary school setting
Demonstrated experience building and navigating a library collection consisting of up to date digital and print resources
Demonstrated interest in furthering professional development
Willingness to take risks and try new things
Complete criminal background check (CORI and Statewide Applicant Fingerprint Identification)
Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
