About the Job

CDS Logistics & Home Services is looking to add a dedicated and hardworking Warehouse Professional to our team in the North Port, FL Facility. In this role you’ll act as a critical member for our team, executing manual unloading of inbound products into our warehouse, product preparation for locating within our warehouse and pulling and staging product for outbound delivery. These responsibilities play a crucial role in contributing to the accomplishment of our organization’s strategic objectives and goals. You’ll have a direct hand in continuing to cement our reputation as the last mile delivery provider of choice in North America for the top cabinetry manufacturers.

Successful applicant will be able to:

  • Prioritize daily tasks in consideration of Organizational Strategic Goals.
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating efforts with your stakeholders.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Act as a member of warehouse team: essential job functions include coming to work in uniform at scheduled shift times to work as part of a dynamic team to complete:
  • manual unloading and staging of products from inbound trucks.
  • preparation of product for warehouse locating.
  • locating and pulling product for outbound delivery to the dock for next day and same day deliveries.
  • properly utilize tools and systems available to increase efficiency and decrease damage.
  • complete facilities inventory activities.
  • participate in warehousing lean management initiatives.
  • meet performance metrics surrounding the above job functions.
  • problem solve daily challenges within all functional areas of the warehouse and operations of the facility with a can-do attitude, to include providing support to driver teams, customer service reps, operations, and dispatch reps, etc.
  • complete other duties as assigned.

(Training for all equipment that is needed for this role will be provided)

  • Execute job duties with speed and accuracy: All employees are trained how performing the below tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and company policies and are expected to meet these standards when preforming all job-related functions. Specific training surrounding the below will be provided to all warehouse professionals.
  • product handling.
  • utilization of warehouse barcode scanners and all other equipment/systems.
  • completion of necessary paperwork to support inbound and outbound products.
  • prepare and pull outbound products for delivery.
  • warehouse organization and layout.
  • safety policies and procedures.
  • foundational knowledge of lean management practices specific to warehouse operations.
  • Managing and maintaining communication: It is expected of all employees to maintain communication with team members and leadership team regarding:
  • any issues faced throughout shift.
  • pertinent or notable information regarding inbound or outbound product.
  • any deadlines/customer expectations that will be missed.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Communication excellence: strong communication and level of professionalism when speaking with co-workers.
  • Proactive team-player: We are looking for an individual who works two steps ahead, identifying and eliminating roadblocks long before they appear.
  • Experience in a Warehouse Environment: 1-2 years’ experience completing warehouse inbound product receiving and/or outbound product pulling and staging.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 75lbs.
  • Skills: ability to multitask in a fast-paced demanding environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in a Warehouse Environment competing inbound receiving and/or outbound product pulling and staging for large and heavy product items.
  • Experience working in a logistics or distribution facility.
  • Experience working in a Lean Facility or experience working under Lean Management practices.
  • Experience working a ride-along-pallet jack to move palletized product.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position requires no supervisory responsibility.

Competencies

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a warehouse team to achieve common goals.
  • Proficiency in manual unloading and staging of products from inbound trucks, as well as preparation and pulling of outbound products for delivery.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk for 8 hours per day, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50 pounds consistently and lift and/or move up to 100 pounds frequently. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Travel

Little to no travel is expected for this position.

Work Environment

This job operates in a warehouse environment. This role routinely uses power industrial equipment such as forklifts, double electric pallet jacks, clamp trucks, and double reach trucks.
