Navajo County is Hiring a Public Fiduciary Financial Specialist Near Holbrook, AZ

Under general supervision, performs professional accounting and clerical support work of moderate difficulty in accounting operations; performs related work as assigned.
(Essential function, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. This list of tasks is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY, and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class.)
·Prepares and maintains the budget and financial plans for clients.
·Organizes billings of client debts, verifying debts for payment.
·Inputs accounts payable, accounts receivables entries, verifies completeness and accuracy of such entries; deposits funds.
·Reconciles accounts of clients, personal funds, bank accounts, etc.
·Resolves income and expense problems.
·Tracks personal funds sent to care facility and prepares monthly accounting statements.
·Prepares monthly reports to Social Security, Veteran’s Administration, Railroad and IRS.
·Monitors all budgets and financial plans for clients.
·Assists with special projects.
·Communicates and administers accounts with banks, investment companies; clients, etc.
·Prepares and analyzes forecasts of available funds and anticipated expenditures.
·Handles cash as required. Prepares cash summary and account reports.
·Generates Demands for Warrants.
·Manages all travel arrangements; inventories received goods.
·May assist callers on the phone or walk-in clients, providing information regarding client services.
·Assists case managers in securing assets, funds, transporting clients, moving clients, etc.
·Assists with Public Auctions.
·Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles, practices and methods and governmental fiscal coding systems and procedures.
·Knowledge of financial record keeping and reporting procedures.
·Knowledge of automated accounting systems.
·Knowledge of proper coding of documents.
·Skill in recording information clearly and completely and in the preparation of accurate and complete financial reports.
·Skill in operating common office equipment including computers and associated software.
·Skill in rapidly calculating and verifying arithmetic computations.
·Skill in effectively communicating verbally and in writing.
·Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients, employees, other agencies and the public.
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or related field; AND three years experience in finance, accounting work; prior work experience in a government setting preferred; OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
