Job Summary:
The Dispensary Manager will assume a central role in the daily operations and sales management of the dispensary, actively contributing to its growth and overall success. This position involves a primary focus on staff training and development, driving sales, maintaining exceptional patient and customer service, upholding brand integrity, and efficiently managing all aspects of dispensary operations.Responsibilities:
As the Dispensary Manager, you will be the driving force behind business growth, maximizing sales opportunities, and creating a customer-centric oasis, where every interaction is a building block for customer and patient retention, strong relationships, and brand loyalty. The following essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop and carry out comprehensive sales strategies to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets.
  • Lead, energize, and inspire team members to effectively implement sales strategies. Provide ongoing coaching to enhance product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer engagement.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics to evaluate and enhance your team’s sales performance.
  • Spearhead promotional campaigns and marketing initiatives to increase foot traffic and elevate sales. Leverage both traditional and digital channels to maximize outreach.
  • Implement strategies to enrich the overall patient and customer experience, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business. Foster a customer-centered approach among team members.
  • Collaborate closely with the Assistant Manager to optimize product availability, minimize out-of-stocks, and implement effective inventory control measures.
  • Implement initiatives that encourage cross-selling and upselling, aiming to increase the average transaction value and overall revenue.
  • Develop and manage customer loyalty programs to cultivate repeat business and enhance brand loyalty.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by observation, active listening, and proactive interaction. Ensure satisfaction and quick resolution of any issues that may arise.
  • Proactively initiate and support changes in policies, procedures, and products, adapting to the ever-evolving cannabis industry as the company grows.
  • Lead the implementation and effective application of information, tools, and systems essential for meeting the diverse needs of patients and customers.
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for the dispensary’s P&L statement and controllable expenses, ensuring financial health and efficiency.
  • Spearhead merchandising, operations, marketing, and the execution of both store and company standards to enhance the overall patient and customer experience.
  • Actively engage in networking initiatives and foster positive relationships within the community to strengthen the dispensary’s presence.
  • Oversee all store opening and closing procedures, ensuring a seamless and secure operational transition each day.
  • Manage all aspects of cash handling procedures and inventory management.
  • Demonstrate adaptability in a dynamic environment, consistently achieving goals even in the face of stress and ambiguity.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to inventory reporting, team member reporting, patient reporting, and packaging.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for all team members, patients, and customers to include sales floor, back room, manager offices, and restrooms.
  • Serves as a company brand ambassador and trains team members to represent the brand appropriately.
  • Follows and implements the company’s core values including respect, diversity, sustainability, research, and service.
  • Adheres to iAnthus' cultural principles of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Spearhead the recruitment, hiring, and training processes, ensuring alignment with all Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Provide positive and constructive feedback to team members, aiding them in meeting and surpassing expectations and goals.
  • Set clear expectations and goals, guiding the team towards achieving operational excellence and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • In partnership with Human Resources, implement effective performance management processes, conducting regular performance reviews and goal-setting sessions.
  • Identify areas for improvement, provide constructive feedback, and recognize and reward outstanding performance.
  • Facilitate ongoing training to ensure that team members are well-versed in product knowledge, compliance, and customer service best practices.
  • Support the professional growth and development of team members through continuous learning opportunities.
  • Efficiently manage staff scheduling to optimize coverage and ensure smooth workflows.
  • Coordinate and oversee shift rotations, breaks, and team member availability to meet operational demands.
  • Act as a mediator in resolving any interpersonal conflicts or issues within the team promptly and professionally.
  • Foster a culture of open communication and teamwork to minimize conflicts and enhance team cohesion.
  • Ensure that all team members adhere to legal and regulatory compliance requirements, including safety protocols and licensing regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • College degree highly preferred.
  • Must consent to a criminal background check.
  • Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of the criminal background check.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • A minimum of five years of full-scope management experience in retail, hospitality, and/or sales roles is essential.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in leadership roles.
  • Deep knowledge of state-specific cannabis laws and regulatory compliance is non-negotiable.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills are required.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are a must.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to positively influence individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage high-stress situations, and exhibit flexibility and adaptability when necessary.
  • Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail and a focus on process optimization.
  • High-level competence in utilizing computers and technology, including working with MS Office applications, POS, and inventory management control systems.
  • Effective decision-making skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Comfortable in leveraging social media analytics to measure the impact of the dispensary’s marketing efforts and providing feedback to adjust strategies as needed to maximize engagement and drive (online) sales.
  • (Advanced) Knowledge of digital marketing tools and strategies, including SEO, email marketing, and online advertising.
  • Experience with analyzing sales data, customer trends, and product performance to identify opportunities for improvement and targeted marketing strategies.
  • Comfortable in actively soliciting and analyzing customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and innovation, shaping the dispensary’s offerings based on customer preferences.
  • Proficiency in managing online sales platforms, including website or app sales, to tap into a broader market and drive sales.
