iAnthus Capital is Hiring a Lab Tech I - Kitchen Edibles Lab Near Wales, FL

Job purpose

The Kitchen Technician is responsible for managing the production of marijuana-infused edible products at the production facility in coordination with the Edibles Kitchen Supervisor. Primary responsibilities include ensuring that production is on schedule, products consistently meet state and internal quality requirements and that target inventory levels are always maintained. As a GrowHealthy Kitchen Technician, you will also be responsible for following quality control standards and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

Job Essentials

  • Possess knowledge of and consistently demonstrate safe cooking procedures.
  • Maintain quality and appearance expectations of all items prepared.
  • Monitor and report any food quality issues and/or discrepancies directly to Supervisor.
  • Abide by all health/food safety regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all dishes, food-contact surfaces, and kitchen areas.
  • Monitor and report equipment issues directly to Supervisor.
  • Monitor and report product shortages directly to Supervisor.
  • Undertake all aspects of cleaning facility equipment, walls, floors, fixtures, fittings, cooking utensils, cutlery, etc. as directed.
  • Participate in the performance and development review process, taking personal responsibility for identification of learning, development and training opportunities in discussion with Production Manager.
  • Assist with daily clean-up of the kitchen.
  • Monitor food cooking and follow Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) procedures as required.
  • Store food and equipment in specified, designated locations.
  • Ensure that the section you are responsible for is maintained, including correct rotation of stock, monitoring staff levels, and completing all paperwork involved in the safe running of the section.
  • Use kitchen equipment safely; operate electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Possess ability to work under direction of senior personnel and make sound and logical decisions.
  • Cooperate with and get along with others in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Must be flexible to changing work environment.
  • Must be able to perform basic math computations.
  • Must be able to understand and carry out all written and/or oral directions.
  • Attend all training activities and/or meetings as required.
  • Assist with special functions at the facility which may be outside of normal working hours.

Qualifications

  • This schedule is a 4 day 10 hour shift. Must be able to work evenings and weekends and be flexible with scheduling from week to week.
  • Must possess advanced understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to follow directions completely and concisely.
  • Must possess excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate good numeracy skills.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure.
  • Role requires effective decision-making skills.
  • Two years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking preferred, or at least 6 months experience in a similar capacity.
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Must have exceptional personal hygiene and grooming habits.
  • Must possess up-to-date Food Safety Certificate.

Working Conditions

Working conditions include:

  • General commercial kitchen and office environment.
  • Extended computer usage.
  • Repetitive motions and understanding of kitchen equipment.
  • Working at a fast pace, subject to many interruptions and both physical and mental demands.
  • Must wear provided kitchen attire, hair/beard nets, gloves, and safety goggles as needed while working in the kitchen

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to hot and cold/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to loud. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
