Flood and Peterson is hiring an Agri-Business Account Assistant!

As an Account Assistant you will learn commercial agri-business insurance from the ground up, preparing you for a long and successful career in the industry. You will be assisting our Account Managers in servicing and retaining our agri-business insurance clients and learning a lot along the way. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with agri-business knowledge or experience but is brand new to insurance. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for account servicing needs during the policy year including but not limited to: binders, certificates, evidence of property, auto ID cards, endorsements, invoicing, audits, claims, etc.

Responsible for detail and accuracy while performing tasks outlined above within the management system

Perform initial policy check to verify policy accuracy for new and renewal business

Review & compare coverage forms

Advise Account Manager or others of any discrepancies within the policy and data management system

Upload policy for delivery to insured

Assist in risk and exposure analysis and complete pre-renewal process as follows:

Order loss runs from insurance carriers

Prepare workbooks, certificate lists and supplemental applications for review

Responsible for integrity of policy data on Agency Management Systems while processing requests

Comply with and follow corporate workflow procedures and guidelines

Provide outstanding customer service and teamwork and seek to improve whenever possible

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities, but is expected to mentor new team members and Inform Supervisor/Manager of all matters that may give rise to an E&O claim.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

At Flood and Peterson all full time employees are eligible for benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, and paid Volunteer Time Off. Full time employees are also eligible to participate in our excellent 401k program, which includes both safe harbor and discretionary matching. We also offer several other voluntary insurance programs including expanded Life, Disability, Accident, Critical Illness/Event, and legal services. In addition to regular pay, this position is eligible to participate in our annual performance incentive program. 

Starting pay for exempt position is $22.00-24.00/hourly . Pay may exceed this range for well-qualified candidates, commensurate with experience.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Work Experience
Experience in the Agriculture industry (Farming, Ranching, Retail or equivalent). One-year certificate from college or technical school; or one to two years related elated experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, concise correspondence, and memoranda. Ability to compose articulate correspondence. Proficient in delivering information effectively in individual and small group settings.

Mathematical

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

This position requires use of the following software or applications:

Word Processing, Internet, Spreadsheets, Email, Presentations, Desktop Publishing, Project Management, Adobe Professional Suite

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations (if applicable)

  • Current or obtain Colorado Property & Casualty Insurance License within 3 months of hire date
  • Actively pursue industry designation of CISR or equivalent 
  • Requires current Colorado driver’s license and acceptable MVR 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The role requires mobility and the ability to move independently. Tasks primarily involve office and desk work, including manual dexterity tasks such as typing, handling objects, reaching, and utilizing hands for various activities. Additionally, the role includes talking, hearing, and sitting for extended periods of time. Occasionally, lifting objects weighing up to 25 lbs. is necessary. The office environment typically features moderate noise levels, including sounds from computers, printers, and moderate foot traffic.
