Seminole County Board of County Commissioners is Hiring a Plant Maintenance Electrician Near Winter Park, FL

This is a technical position which supports Water or Wastewater operations by maintaining all electrical components, processing systems and pumping equipment in the water and wastewater treatment plants to ensure that operations, maintenance and I&C teams can achieve plant permit compliance. Carries out routine maintenance of equipment and machinery within Seminole County's water and wastewater treatment facilities. Documents all maintenance activities, diagnoses faults and completes time-critical repairs. All work carried out is either predictive, preventative, routine or emergency maintenance during normal or after hours as deemed necessary.

**Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description.

Ensures all water or wastewater equipment is maintained and in good working order.
Performs reactive, predictive and preventative maintenance within the treatment facilities, to include but not limited to inspections, and repair of equipment.
Troubleshooting and repairs to main switchgear, MCC's, electrical panels and components, controllers, chemical feed equipment, and processing equipment up to 3 Phase 480 Volts.
Observes mechanical & electrical devices in operation to isolate and correct deficiencies and potential failures.
Troubleshooting to the component level with the ability of replacing components to restore equipment operability.
Configuration and operational limit adjustments to VFD's and SSRV's for optimum performance. 
Testing and troubleshooting of 4-20 mA devices and circuits.
Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
Maintains the Seminole County standardized work methods, practices, guidelines, and schedules for the proper maintenance and repair of water or wastewater equipment.
Assists I&C Technicians with calibration, testing, and repairs of instrumentation and metering devices.
Maintains plant equipment maintenance records and spare parts inventory documentation.
Responds to emergencies 24/7 when on call. (Rotation schedule).
Provides technical and professional support, guidance and training to other utility staff members on the operation and maintenance of water or wastewater equipment systems.
Acts as a liaison on special projects, including assisting Operations and Engineering staff with the configuration, installation and interoperation of water or wastewater equipment and systems.
Additional Duties
Performs all other duties as assigned. 
In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); completion of an industry recognized electrical journeyman's certification or higher with electrical maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of related education and electrical experience is required.
 
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License, Class "E" and a valid Florida
.
 
A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

A high level of knowledge and practical application experience in electrical controls,
electronics, PLC's. Water or wastewater treatment systems experience is preferred.
A good working knowledge of the NEC (National Electric Code), NFPA 70E (Arc-Flash) and OSHA CFR 1910.147 (lockout/tag out) is required.
Must be skilled in the use of electrical and mechanical test equipment, computers and software used to troubleshoot and repair water or wastewater process control systems and production infrastructure. Literate in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, Etc.). Knowledge of or experience with SCADA systems is preferred.
Ability to develop and implement maintenance scheduling.
Must be able to learn new equipment quickly and resolve technical problems effectively.
Ability to learn advanced treatment processes of water or wastewater treatment process control and operating systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints for use in the repair and improvement of water or wastewater process and production systems.
All employees must attend Seminole County Required Trainings.
Department Specific trainings per position may be required.
