Laura Baker Services Association is Hiring a Maintenance Support Person Near Northfield, MN

Job Description: Maintenance Support Person

LBSA has a maintenance agreement with G&H Management to maintain our facilities and they have assigned LBSA a Property Manager for our facility to coordinate any and all subcontractors that work on our facilities (cleaning, electrical, plumbing, heating & cooling, etc). The Property Manager also performs routine maintenance; however, we do not have enough time allocated hours from our agreement for them to complete all necessary maintenance tasks. The Maintenance Support Person will be assigned tasks and duties from the Property Manager from G&H Management and the LBSA Maintenance Director, J.R. Larson.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as replacing batteries, bulbs, furnace filters, and caulking etc.
  • Cleaning areas, equipment and other items not
  • Track, manage and perform general work order repairs
  • Complete light remodeling tasks such as patching and painting
  • Assembly of items purchased for facilities and operation like furniture, shelving, etc.
  • Inspect and maintain all interior and exterior building components on a regular basis
  • Place orders or request supplies with Property Manager’s approval
  • Reports any maintenance concerns for repairs on vacant and common areas to the Property Manager
  • Maintaining grounds and common areas and keeping them free of trash and debris
  • Assists Property Manager with unit turnover and maintenance
  • Assist with grounds and snow removals as needed
  • Maintain the shop and storage areas in a clean, orderly, and secure manner
  • Ability to pass a background check

Other Attributes (not required)

  • Flooring and tile repair and install
  • Lite plumbing

Experience Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and digitally
  • Customer service oriented
  • Experience working as a team and working independently
  • Must have experience in the use of general maintenance equipment and tools
  • Must have a good history of dependability and job performance
  • Must have his/her own transportation and some basic hand tools
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds and climb a 12ft ladder
  • Bend and crawl into small areas
  • Operate a snow blower, vacuum cleaner, lawn mower and small hand tools
  • $22 - $24 an hour

Compensation

Typical Hours

  • Approximately 16 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday during business hours (3-4 hours/day), with some flexibility
  • Flexible starting and ending time, but may from time to time be asked to be available at specific dates/times
