The Monarch San Antonio, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, is a 200-room, 17-story boutique hotel located in the Hemisfair District of downtown San Antonio. It is set to open in early 2026 and is inspired by the Monarch butterfly that migrates through the region each winter. The hotel will feature a full-service spa, a terrace pool, and five food and beverage concepts, including a rooftop restaurant and bar.

Position Summary
The Front Waiter at Oak & Amber Steakhouse is responsible for delivering a refined, personalized dining experience through attentive service, strong product knowledge, and polished hospitality. This role serves as the primary point of contact for guests throughout their dining experience, guiding them through menu selections while representing the elevated standards of a luxury steakhouse.
Essential Functions
Guest Service and Experience
- Provide warm, professional, and attentive table service throughout the guest dining experience.
- Guide guests through menu selections including steaks, sides, wine, and cocktails.
- Anticipate guest needs and personalize service to enhance satisfaction.
- Maintain a calm, confident presence in a fine dining environment.
Menu and Product Knowledge
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of food, beverage, and wine offerings.
- Communicate menu details including preparation methods, ingredients, and pairings.
- Support upselling initiatives through thoughtful recommendations.
- Stay informed on menu changes and daily features.
Service Execution
- Follow all service standards, timing, and table maintenance procedures.
- Coordinate service with support staff to ensure seamless execution.
- Accurately enter orders and manage checks.
- Ensure tables are properly set, cleared, and maintained throughout service.
Teamwork and Professionalism
- Work collaboratively with bartenders, support staff, and culinary teams.
- Maintain a polished appearance and professional demeanor at all times.
- Accept coaching and feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Contribute to a respectful and team-oriented work environment.
Compliance and Safety
- Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and food handling standards.
- Adhere to responsible alcohol service laws and company policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned service areas.
Other Duties
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by restaurant leadership.
- Maintain availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of fine dining or upscale restaurant service experience preferred.
- Strong communication and guest service skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional demeanor and attention to detail.
- Food and Alcohol Service Certifications required.
