What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Cost Accountant position at Xplora Search Group?
Senior Manufacturing Accountant
Build your career where operations meet strategy
If you’re a cost accountant who wants more than just variance reports and month-end cycles, this is your chance to step into a role where your work directly shapes how the business runs.
We’re looking for a Senior Cost Accountant with a strong manufacturing foundation who’s ready to go beyond the numbers—partnering with operations, influencing decisions, and positioning themselves for future leadership.
Why this role stands out
- Clear growth path: This isn’t a “stay in your lane” role. It’s a launchpad into broader finance leadership and operational influence.
- Learn the business inside-out: You’ll work closely with plant leadership and cross-functional teams, gaining exposure that most accounting roles don’t offer.
- Collaborative, no-silos culture: You’ll be part of a team that actually works together—finance, ops, and leadership aligned.
- Real perks that matter: Gym membership, tuition reimbursement, and a company that genuinely invests in its people.
What you’ll do
- Own and analyze standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting
- Partner with plant operations to drive insights around cost efficiency and process improvement
- Support month-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations related to cost and inventory
- Lead or contribute to budgeting and forecasting for manufacturing operations
- Help improve costing processes, systems, and reporting—this is not a “maintain the status quo” role
- Provide actionable insights to leadership, not just reports
What we’re looking for
- Strong cost accounting foundation (this is non-negotiable)
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to translate data into insights—someone who can partner, not just report
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with operations and leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/CMA is a plus)
Who thrives here
Someone who:
- Wants to grow beyond pure accounting into a more strategic role
- Enjoys being close to the business, not buried in spreadsheets all day
- Is curious, collaborative, and ready to make an impact early
If you’re looking for a role where cost accounting is just the starting point—not the ceiling, this is worth a conversation.
