About the Opportunity
A leading engineering, manufacturing, and construction organization is seeking an experienced Process Mechanical Project Manager to join its Manufacturing Division in Greensboro, North Carolina.
This role will lead the execution of complex off-site constructed mechanical equipment projects, including central utility plants, mechanical equipment rooms, modular data centers, and custom air handling systems. The successful candidate will oversee projects from concept and design through fabrication, installation, startup, and final delivery while serving as the primary client point of contact.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical manufacturing projects from design development through final commissioning and closeout.
- Facilitate project kickoff meetings and establish execution plans.
- Coordinate engineering, design, fabrication, procurement, and installation activities.
- Manage interdisciplinary teams of engineers, designers, plant personnel, and subcontractors.
- Oversee fabrication drawing development and project deliverables.
- Transition projects seamlessly from estimating into fabrication and field installation phases.
- Identify and implement value engineering opportunities that enhance project performance and cost efficiency.
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and overall financial performance.
- Procure equipment and materials while ensuring timely delivery and vendor compliance.
- Manage project submittals, RFIs, change orders, and requests for payment.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring engineering and fabrication milestones are achieved.
- Coordinate workforce requirements with operations, plant leadership, and human resources.
- Direct subcontractor activities and ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
- Review and approve invoices and maintain accurate project cost reporting.
- Oversee development of operating and maintenance manuals and as-built documentation.
- Generate project status reports and communicate progress to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety standards, quality requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
- Deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and to established quality expectations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Equivalent construction management experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 5 years of experience in Industrial HVAC, ESCO projects, central refrigeration plants, design-build contracting, energy efficiency, or related mechanical systems environments.
- 5 years of project management experience managing complex mechanical or manufacturing projects.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting schedule and budget objectives.
Preferred Skills
- Strong understanding of industrial mechanical systems and off-site construction methodologies.
- Experience with modular construction, central utility plants, mechanical equipment rooms, or custom air handling systems.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction industry standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, scheduling tools, and construction management platforms.
- Experience with Revit or related design software is a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and client management skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Salary : $100,000 - $125,000
