Essential Functions of Classroom Teacher

Lower School Teacher- WSCS is seeking a vibrant and energetic educator that has a passion for educating young students. Teacher should be able to teacher from a Biblical worldview in a diverse and enclosed classroom

• Lower School Classroom Teacher (2-5)Winston Salem Christian School seeks an outstanding Lower School Teacher to join a tremendous team of educators. Above all, the school seeks an educator who loves working with lower school students and supporting their efforts to develop their God given creativity. A college degree is required.
• Successful candidates will be excited to work in a diverse environment and will be eager to immerse themselves in the school community. Our school community growth requires us to pursue an additional lower school teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
• A teacher should have the ability to maintain a classroom and lead an engaging classroom across all curriculum. The ability to provide opportunities for differentiated learning is a must.
• Teachers must have a profession of faith in Jesus Christ, and be active in a gospel centered church. Provide academically rigorous instruction in subject areas, with a mind to biblical integration.
• Key Responsibilities and Duties: ·
• Teach an enclosed classroom of approximately 18-20 students. Leading the classroom in Mathematics, Language Arts, Science, History, and Bible. ·
• Participate in the life of the school by attending athletic, arts, fundraising, and other school events · Participate on committees and task forces as needed · There are opportunities for summer camp leadership and additional earnings in both art and music ·
• Maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, and colleagues
• Skills and Competencies:
• · Sense of humor and demonstrated success working with children · Ability to differentiate instruction ·
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail · Excellent written and oral communication skills ·
• Ability to develop an arts program for lower school · Capacity to maximize advantages of educational technology ·
• Experience using G-Suite and Google Classroom a plus but not required.
• Credentials: ·
• Bachelor’s degree required · Minimum of three years relevant teaching experience
