General Statement of Duties
Prepare student residents to succeed academically, professionally, and personally embrace a commitment to lifelong learning and become informed and engaged as productive citizens. Encourage and mentor Christ-like behavior through guidance and the assistance with on-site bible teachers and Head of School. Teach and model personal hygiene, responsibility for belongings, peer interaction, cleanliness, and maintenance of their surroundings. Ensure student residents to follow school rules and attend classes according to their schedule.
Essential Functions
Attend monthly House Manager meetings
Oversight of 8-16 student residents
Must be onsite overnight unless prior arrangements are made.
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of house or dormitory.
Schedule and Maintain Daily Cleaning assignments among student residents.
Ensure Laundry area, bathrooms and kitchenette are always clean and sanitary.
Set up and Breakdown for Breakfast area
Establish time and area for resident students to pack their lunches if cafeteria not available Monday – Friday.
Maintain grocery items for weekend feeding.
Arrange and order in a Sunday evening meal.
Daily check of outdoor premises for trash and clutter
Document and perform Monthly Fire Drills
Secure campus by midnight, checking all the doors and gates
Maintain high visibility with student residents.
Monitor and report any repairs in the dorm or around premises to Director of Operations or Facilities Division
Will undergo a monthly inspection by the Director of Operations or Facilities Division
Submit all receipts charged against house card and budget.
Qualifications:Minimum Education or Training
Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Minimum of two (2) year experience in a similar type of care. Must have a valid driver's license and a clear background through the State of NC Criminal Background check. Must pass drug screening and understand a variety of cultures, as well as be patient and ambitious regarding organization and cleanliness. CPR First Aid certification preferred.
Minimum Qualifications and Standards
Physical Requirements:
Must be physically able to climb stairs, push pull and carry items up to 50 lbs. Must have basic computer skills.
Interpersonal Temperament:
Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under stress when confronted with emergency or unusual situations. The worker may be subject to danger or risk to a slight degree and to tension as a regular, consistent part of the job. Exercises patience with student residents
Religious Organization:
The worker will be expected to follow the guidelines of the Statement of Faith, Statement of Moral Integrity, Statement of Lifestyle statement, which are all outlined and accordance to scripture. Worker also agrees to follow the confidentiality guidelines.
Knowledge of Job:
Has thorough knowledge of the methods, procedures, and policies of Winston Salem Christian School as they pertain to the performance of duties of the students and its employees. Knows how to react calmly and quickly in emergency situations.
Quality and Quantity of Work:
Maintains exacting standards of accuracy in exercising duties and responsibilities. Maintains high quality communication and interaction with internal and external entities with whom the position interacts.
