Annex Lead Custodian

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Lead Custodian in the Webster County Schools' Annex. This full-time position plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The Lead Custodian will oversee custodial staff, manage cleaning schedules, and ensure that all areas of the school meet high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of custodial staff, providing training and guidance as needed.
• Develop and implement cleaning schedules and routines to ensure all areas of the school are maintained effectively.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
• Inspect and maintain custodial equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working order and available as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and order replacements as necessary.
• Address any maintenance or repair issues in a timely manner, coordinating with maintenance staff as needed.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and waste disposal.
• Assist in setting up and taking down furniture and equipment for school events and activities.
• Communicate effectively with school administration, staff, and students regarding custodial services and needs.
• Promote a positive team environment and foster good relationships among custodial staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in custodial services or facilities management preferred.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Valid driver's license may be required for transportation of supplies and equipment.
