Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of custodial staff, providing training and guidance as needed.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules and routines to ensure all areas of the school are maintained effectively.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
- Inspect and maintain custodial equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working order and available as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and order replacements as necessary.
- Address any maintenance or repair issues in a timely manner, coordinating with maintenance staff as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and waste disposal.
- Assist in setting up and taking down furniture and equipment for school events and activities.
- Communicate effectively with school administration, staff, and students regarding custodial services and needs.
- Promote a positive team environment and foster good relationships among custodial staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in custodial services or facilities management preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
