Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Supervise and engage children during playtime, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Support individual and small group instruction to reinforce learning concepts and skills.
- Monitor student behavior and provide positive guidance, helping children develop self-regulation and conflict resolution skills.
- Prepare classroom materials and resources to enhance learning experiences.
- Assist with daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and transitions between activities.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to provide updates on student progress and any concerns.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in early childhood education.
- Collaborate with the lead teacher and other staff members to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom space, ensuring that materials are properly stored and accessible.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in early childhood education or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working with young children in a preschool or childcare setting is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from the lead teacher.
- Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate teaching strategies.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid required.
- Must pass background checks and comply with all school district policies and procedures.
- Availability to work full-time hours, including potential early morning and late afternoon shifts.
Salary : $14 - $19
