The successful candidate will work closely with the classroom teacher to support the educational and developmental needs of kindergarten students, ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Assist the classroom teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and educational activities.
- Support students in their learning by providing one-on-one or small group instruction as needed.
- Help maintain a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to the teacher on individual student needs.
- Assist with classroom management, including behavior management strategies and maintaining a safe learning environment.
- Prepare instructional materials and classroom resources to enhance learning experiences.
- Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other non-instructional times to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive school community.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and staff meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or school administration.
Requirements
- High school diploma or passing of the paraeducator exam, or 42 college hours.
- Previous experience working with young children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine interest in supporting the growth and development of young children.
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching strategies.
- Proficient in using technology and educational software to support instruction.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
- Background check and clearance as required by state law and school district policies.
Salary : $14 - $19
