Instructional Assistant II

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Instructional Assistant to join our team at Sebree Elementary School. This full-time position involves supporting classroom teachers in providing a high-quality educational experience for students. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and assisting in the academic and social development of students.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Provide individualized and small group support to students, reinforcing learning objectives and facilitating skill development.
• Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
• Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and engagement.
• Prepare instructional materials and assist with classroom organization and management.
• Support students with special needs, adapting instructional methods and materials as necessary.
• Assist in the administration of assessments and record keeping of student performance.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and implement educational strategies.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in education.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or school administration.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or higher in education or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
• Knowledge of instructional strategies and classroom management techniques.
• Ability to adapt to the diverse needs of students and provide support in a variety of learning environments.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications and educational technology.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
• Must pass background checks and any other required clearances as mandated by school policy.
