Client has an immediate opening for an experienced CWI / Welding Specialist to join our team in Houma, Louisiana. This is a full-time, salaried role with occasional travel to customer job sites. Compensation is commensurate with experience.

This Role Involves Hands-on Participation In
- Developing and qualifying Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Monitoring and inspecting welders and welding activities and customer locations
- Performing customer surveillance inspections
- Conducting welder testing and certifications
- Preparing test specimens from weldments and base metals
- Performing metallurgical testing as directed
- Operating and maintaining laboratory and machining equipment
- Accurately documenting all test results and inspections
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Current CWI or SCWI Certification (Required)
- 3 years of experience as a CWI/SCWI on fabrication projects (oil & gas, shipbuilding, infrastructure, etc.)
- 5 years of Arc Welding experience
- Strong knowledge of welding processes:
- FCAW, GMAW, GTAW, SAW
- Working knowledge of industry codes and standards:
- ABS, AWS, ASME, API 1104
- Experience with materials:
- Aluminum, high-strength steel, stainless steel, duplex/super duplex, carbon steel
- Hands-on welder qualification and certification experience
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word
- Ability to safely operate machining equipment:
- Mill, lathe, band saws, grinders, torches
- Able to sit or stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Authorized to work in the United States
