Certified Welding Inspector
Minimum Required Education and Experience:
- Three years of experience in quality control or related position is preferred.
- CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promotes, executes, and adheres to the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental program.
- Inspects if necessary for nonconforming receipt inspection.
- Inspects welds for conformity to codes such as AWS [D1.1/5].
- Calibrates inspection equipment and tools.
- Performs final inspections.
- Measures overall characteristics of a part.
- Reports inspection results to quality control manager and project manager.
- Inspects grade, shape and thickness of incoming material.
- Assures specifications of bolts are in accordance with purchase order.
- Maintains inspection records.
- Identifies non-conforming material.
- Reviews incoming consumables.
- Confirms proper gages are used to measure weld sizes.
- Guarantees calibrated tools are used during inspection.
- Performs other duties as required based on company’s needs.
