Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Houma, Louisiana for a Welding Specialist / Certified Welding Inspector. Acceptable candidates shall be U.S. citizens or persons authorized to work in the U.S. The responsibilities of this role include inspecting welds to ensure compliance with applicable standards, developing and qualifying welding procedures in support of various projects. Additional tasks may include conducting metallurgical testing, supporting welding machine calibration services, analyzing weld performance, providing technical advice for process improvements, and preparing inspection reports for clients.
Qualifications
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required with at least 5 years of experience in a QA/QC role
- Experience with writing and / or reviewing welding procedures is preferred.
- Strong Analytical Skills to assess welding specifications, detect deficiencies, and ensure quality standards are met
- Proficient with MS Word and Excel
- Experience with metallurgical testing or welder testing environments is a plus
- Excellent Communication skills for effectively collaborating with team members and clients
- Extensive knowledge and experience related to welding and fabrication is preferred
- Proficiency with interpretation of technical drawings and specifications
- Project Management abilities to coordinate and oversee welding and testing activities
- Ability to work on-site in a laboratory, shop or field environment and adhere to safety standards
