This individual will manage a portfolio of tax clients while serving as a trusted advisor on compliance, planning, and strategic tax matters. The role offers broad exposure across tax, accounting, and client advisory services within a collaborative CPA firm environment, along with long term leadership and potential ownership opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex individual, partnership, corporate, trust, and estate tax returns including Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120-S, and 1041
- Manage tax compliance calendars, filing deadlines, extensions, and related deliverables across client portfolio
- Conduct tax research and apply federal and state tax law to resolve technical tax matters
- Respond to IRS and state notices and assist with audits or inquiries as needed
- Develop proactive tax planning strategies, projections, and advisory recommendations for clients
- Advise clients on entity structure, business decisions, and long term tax implications
- Review financial statements and provide accounting/financial oversight for select clients
- Oversee bookkeeping and accounting support functions where applicable
- Manage and strengthen client relationships through consistent communication and high quality service
- Review and mentor staff and interns, providing guidance and technical training
- Assist with internal process improvements, technology adoption, and firm growth initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA license or actively pursuing CPA certification
- 3 to 8 years of public accounting experience with strong tax focus
- Experience preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns
- Strong understanding of federal and state tax law
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Experience with professional tax preparation software
- Prior experience managing or reviewing staff work
- Client advisory and tax planning experience
- Experience with CCH tax software
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a small team environment
Salary : $85,000 - $130,000
