Litigation Paralegal (Personal Injury)
We are seeking a highly experienced Litigation Paralegal to support a dynamic personal injury practice. This role is responsible for managing a diverse caseload of complex litigation matters, handling approximately 20-30 cases from intake through resolution. This role is responsible for managing a diverse caseload of complex litigation matters, handling approximately 20-30 cases from intake through resolution. The ideal candidate operates with a high level of discretion, organization, and autonomy while serving as a key partner to attorneys throughout the litigation lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a high-volume personal injury caseload from intake through trial, ensuring all matters progress efficiently and deadlines are consistently met
- Coordinate all aspects of litigation, including calendaring court deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial dates
- Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery responses, affidavits, and correspondence in compliance with state and federal court rules, including eFiling requirements
- Oversee the collection, organization, and summarization of medical records and billing to support case strategy and damages analysis
- Maintain clear, proactive communication with clients, attorneys, opposing counsel, courts, experts, and vendors
- Coordinate discovery, depositions, expert witness scheduling, and related logistics, including payment processing
- Prepare attorneys for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial by organizing case files, exhibits, witness lists, and trial materials; attend proceedings as needed
- Monitor court dockets, manage service of process, and conduct ongoing file reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and readiness
- Support team efficiency through collaboration, mentorship, and training of junior staff
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload with strong organizational, time management, and attention to detail skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience with complex litigation, including state and federal procedures (e.g., personal injury, medical malpractice, or commercial litigation)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused approach
- Proficiency with eCourts, legal research tools, and case management systems
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field
- North Carolina Paralegal Certification required; Notary Public certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a litigation paralegal within a personal injury or comparable legal setting
- Strong knowledge of litigation processes, discovery procedures, and court filing systems
Salary : $65,000 - $80,000
