Accounting Manager - Commercial Real Estate

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Accounting Manager to oversee the accounting department and support the financial operations across real estate development and property management functions. This is a key leadership role suited for a high-integrity professional who is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the accounting department across multiple entities
Prepare accurate and timely weekly, monthly, and year-end financial statements
Perform full-charge accounting, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
Prepare and review balance sheet, profit & loss, and income/expense reports
Maintain accurate financial records with proper coding and classification of transactions
Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and supporting schedules
Monitor cash flow, receivables, payables, and account balances
Maintain and improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting accuracy
Utilize QuickBooks Online to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial data
Support lender reporting, financing requests, and related financial schedules
Provide regular reporting to senior leadership
Collaborate with property management and operations teams on billing, collections, and expenses
Assist with audits, external accountants, year-end processes, and special projects
Ensure the accounting function remains organized, responsive, and deadline-driven
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within commercial real estate, development, construction, or property management
Strong experience in full-charge accounting and financial statement preparation
Solid background in AP, AR, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
Strong understanding of financial reporting and balance sheet analysis
Experience with borrower/lender reporting is a plus
Must be able to meet bonding requirements and provide strong professional references
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail
Long-term mindset with interest in growing within the organization
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Experience in real estate or property management accounting
Experience Managing Multiple Entities Or Related-company Accounting Structures
