WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • We are seeking a Civil / Landscape Designer with 5-7 years' experience for the firm's Patchogue office.
  • Candidates must be able to work independently, be detail oriented, efficient and adaptable to changing deadlines and priorities and work well collaboratively. Designers are expected to think critically and contribute creatively to the design process.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in both Civil Engineering and Landscape Architecture projects.
  • Candidates should have experience in design of athletic facilities, parking lots, public parks, hardscape, landscape, and grading and drainage / infrastructure projects. This position typically works on a team of professionals under the direction of a Landscape Architect, Professional Engineer or Architect.
  • Candidates should be dedicated self-starters, able to work on teams with Senior level staff, other Project Managers / Senior Staff, project level architects and engineers, and technical designers. He or she should also be able to function alone when necessary and should also have a dedication to the profession with a willingness to guide and mentor newer professionals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-

  • Pro-actively contribute to projects from conceptual design through construction closeout
  • Manage the production of construction documents and technical specifications for public bidding.
  • Follow production schedules and meet multiple simultaneous deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle more than one project at a time
  • Collaborate positively with in-house design teams of other project architects and engineers, designers, technicians and outside consultants, as well as Construction Managers and client representatives.
  • Meet quality control requirements, budgets, and time deadlines as necessary to ensure highest level of client satisfaction.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to self-edit work and command a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to travel to client locations

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:-

  • Skills and experience will vary according to the level of the position however the following are minimal requirements of all positions:
  • Bachelor's in Landscape Architecture or Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in an office environment, with a history of increased responsibility.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel, and Adobe, knowledge of REVIT.
  • Strong design and graphic skills, with ability to work in Sketch-Up or other modeling/presentation software packages.
  • Excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills.
  • Previous experience in K-12 schools and / or municipal work a plus.
  • Self-driven desire to learn and grow professionally, independence, ability to multi-task and to meet multiple simultaneous deadlines, client interaction and presentations.
  • Candidates with additional background in stormwater modeling, SWPPP, ecology, sustainability, horticulture and plant knowledge are encouraged to share details.

Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
