Trade Compliance/Logistics Specialist

Volt is immediately hiring for a Trade Compliance and Logistics Specialist in Carlsbad, CA. 

As a Trade Compliance and Logistics Specialist, you will: 

• Manage daily import and export compliance activities to support uninterrupted supply chain operations
• Coordinate closely with customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure smooth shipment clearance
• Review and validate shipping documentation including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and packing lists
• Classify materials and finished goods using HTS codes, ECCNs, and country-of-origin rules
• Ensure compliance with U.S. export and import regulations, including EAR, ITAR, and Customs requirements
• Support tariff mitigation initiatives, including trade agreement eligibility and duty-saving programs
• Maintain accurate records and conduct internal audits to ensure regulatory adherence
• Identify compliance risks and recommend corrective actions to minimize fines, delays, and disruptions
• Serve as a point of contact for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders regarding trade compliance issues
• Collaborate with logistics, legal, sales, and manufacturing teams to ensure compliant and on-time shipments
• Perform restricted party screening and support the maintenance of trade compliance policies and procedures

This is a full time, direct hire opportunity. 

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in international trade compliance, import/export operations, logistics, or customs brokerage
• Working knowledge of U.S. trade regulations, including EAR, ITAR, and Customs requirements
• Experience with product classification (HTS, ECCN) and country-of-origin determinations
• Ability to review, interpret, and manage shipping and customs documentation
• Familiarity with ERP systems and trade compliance or global trade management software
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify risks and discrepancies
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or contract manufacturing environment
• Customs or export compliance certifications (e.g., Licensed Customs Broker, export compliance certification)
• Experience supporting audits or developing standard operating procedures
• Familiarity with free trade agreements such as USMCA

Pay Rate: $85,000 - $95,000 per year. 

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
