What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Inspector position at Volt?
VOLT is immediately hiring for a Quality Control Inspector in San Diego, CA.
As a Quality Control Inspector, you will:
- Inspect cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and electromechanical builds for workmanship and compliance with drawings, specifications, and IPC/WHMA-A-620 requirements.
- Perform electrical testing including continuity, hipot, insulation resistance, and other required tests using meters, analyzers, and automated test equipment.
- Read and interpret customer drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, work instructions, and travelers.
- Verify dimensions, labeling, component values, materials, and build configuration according to customer and internal documentation.
- Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming products; communicate findings with quality and production personnel.
- Build, maintain, or set up test fixtures when required.
- Perform receiving inspection on incoming components and materials.
- Complete inspection records, test reports, and Certificates of Conformance (CoC).
- Support AS9100/ISO9001 quality system requirements and continuous improvement activities.
1st Shift Full Time Opportunity | Monday - Friday, 7:00AM - 3:30PM plus OT as needed
Qualifications & Experience:
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified, Previously Certified, or Trained Equivalent
- J-STD-001 Certified, Previously Certified, or Trained Equivalent
- IPC-A-610 Certified, Previously Certified, or Trained Equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience inspecting cable assemblies, wire harnesses, or electronic assemblies, or equivalent technical training.
- Experience working in an AS9100 or ISO9001 environment preferred.
- Basic understanding of electricity, electrical devices, and electronic test equipment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand at a workbench for extended periods.
- Good manual dexterity for fine assembly work and microscope use.
- Ability to lift up to approximately 25 lbs occasionally.
Pay Rate*: $22.00 to $25.00 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
