Position Overview
- Provides leadership and coordinates staffing in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) with 12 beds, caring for adult and geriatric patients with complex needs.
- Ensures delivery of quality patient care, assigns and monitors staff, and contributes to performance evaluations.
- Assesses patient care needs, develops care assignments, and evaluates care effectiveness to meet desired outcomes.
- Responds to patient care concerns, manages complaints, and may assist with hiring, training, and staff development.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
- CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days; ACLS and PALS may be required within 6 months depending on unit.
- Diploma in nursing from an accredited institution and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
