Pharmacy Technician

Role Overview: Responsible for assisting licensed pharmacists by accurately preparing, labeling, and dispensing medications and healthcare products. Provides customer service, maintains patient profiles, processes insurance claims, and ensures the department is well-stocked and clean. Completes tasks efficiently and supports pharmacists with delegated duties, adhering to legal policies and HIPAA regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Stock and inventory medications, notify management of supply needs.
• Receive prescriptions and refills, accurately count, label, and dispense products.
• Maintain customer profiles and insurance documentation.
• Operate cash register, handle transactions, and assist customers.
• Ensure department cleanliness and product display standards.
• Support pharmacists with delegated tasks, ensuring compliance with all policies.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent; pharmacy-related experience preferred.
• State registration or certification required.
• Strong reading, writing, and comprehension abilities.
• Basic math skills and product knowledge.
• Detail-oriented with suggestive selling skills.
  
  

Physical & Environmental Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally. Standing, walking, bending, and twisting are required in a retail environment with varied temperatures and noise levels. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
