- Process payroll for a multi-state workforce in an accurate, timely, and compliant manner using ADP Workforce Now and UKG Time & Attendance.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Collect, validate, and maintain employee data, always ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Proactively identify payroll discrepancies, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Research and resolve timekeeping and payroll-related issues with a strong sense of ownership and urgency.
- Maintain and update payroll records, including new hires, promotions, transfers, terminations, and tax changes.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism, clarity, and a high level of customer service.
- Support benefits-related payroll processes and ensure accurate deductions and reporting.
- Generate reports, analyze payroll data, and support standardized reporting and data integrity efforts.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, reconciliations, and payroll data.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, automation, and standardization.
- Serve as a subject matter resource and support cross-training and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Provide backup support to the Payroll Supervisor as needed.
- Provide backup support for benefit functions.
- Collaborate effectively across teams while also working independently in a deadline-driven environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field is a plus
- At least 3 years of experience in payroll processing or related field.
- Experience processing payroll in a multi-state environment
- Strong understanding of payroll principles and procedures.
- Experience utilizing HR systems: ADP Workforce Now and UKG preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Intermediate or higher Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of processes and drive issues through to resolution
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and perform well under pressure.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Bilingual in Spanish or Karen
- Experience with payroll system upgrades, implementations, or integrations.
- Demonstrated interest in professional growth and advancement within payroll or HR operations
- Experience supporting continuous improvement or automation initiatives.
- This position requires frequent use of a computer, sitting for extended periods, and occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds. May require occasional schedule flexibility during payroll processing cycles.
