Venteon Finance is currently seeking a Finance Manager for an industry leading company located in the Plymouth, MI area. This position is responsible for supporting the business activities of the site including all areas relating to financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, governmental regulations, and supporting the accounting functions as well as maintaining a strong internal control structure.
Requirements of the Finance Manager
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration (Finance)
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience
- Project accounting experience required
- Develop an accounting system that will ensure compliance with all Federal State and local regulations as well as quality systems
- Develop, retain and motivate a competent professional staff capable of meeting established accounting and quality goals in a timely and efficient manner
- Governmental or Defense contract accounting experience preferred
- SAP experience preferred
Responsibilities of the Finance Manager
- Active member of the business unit executive management team, as the strategic Business Partner supporting Management, Commercial, and Operations teams of the site initiatives.
- Providing direct oversight of our local site Finance team and Finance related activities
- Ensure proper accounting treatment of revenue recognition on both a percentage-of-completion and completed contract basis including the reporting of job costing, WIP reporting, and labor and overhead reporting.
- Full ownership of the strategic planning process, budgeting, forecasting, pricing, capital investments, inventory management, and departmental cost activities as well as ad hoc analyses.
- Support accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close reporting
- Make recommendations to reduce operating costs and increase efficiency.
- Support, in conjunction with Management, Legal and Financial Reporting, the review of contracts and corresponding reporting.
- Work in coordination with management to maintain and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles in accordance with Corporate Policies and Procedures (U.S. GAAP), Corporate Reporting Standards, Internal Controls (Sarbanes Oxley), and governmental accounting regulations (FAR and CARS reporting).
