Our client is a growing leader in the construction industry, delivering high-quality commercial and residential projects across the region. We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Specialist to join our administrative team and support our field and office personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for both union and non-union employees in accordance with company policies and state/federal regulations.
- Review, verify, and enter timesheets, job codes, prevailing wage rates, and certified payroll requirements.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records, deductions, accruals, and job-site allocations.
- Prepare and submit certified payroll reports, union fringe benefit reports, and project-specific documentation.
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve employee questions regarding pay, hours, and deductions.
- Coordinate with HR for onboarding, terminations, employee status changes, and benefit enrollments.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, union contracts, prevailing wage laws, and company standards.
- Support accounting functions including job cost reporting, payroll journal entries, and audit requests.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of payroll experience, preferably in construction or related industries.
- Experience with certified payroll and union reporting is a requirement.
- Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Foundation, Sage 300, or similar).
- Strong understanding of labor laws, prevailing wage, and multi-state payroll processing.
- High attention to detail, confidentiality, and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service when working with field employees and management.
