Project Accountant

Venteon is currently seeking a Project Accountant to fill an opening with an established general contracting and finished carpentry company located in Oakland County.

Requirements of the Project Accountant

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• At least 5 years of Project Accounting Experience in the Construction industry
• Proficiency with accounting systems, in addition to MS Office
• Detail and Task-oriented, with a strong sense of organization and self-motivation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with significant computer and application abilities

Responsibilities of the Project Accountant

• Project start-up of each job, including budgets, scopes of work, etc.
• Review and issue sub-contractor contracts, including review of scopes of work
• Maintain all subcontractor files, including certificates of insurance, qualifications, and other required information
• Processing owner billings on a regular basis and collecting payments
• Track receipt of waivers and sworn statements needed from sub-contractors
• Pay sub-contractors as payments are received from owners and all required information has been received from subs
• In conjunction with Project Managers and Engineers, review and process change orders
• Update the budget, reallocating expenses as needed and communicating with the Project team
• Reconcile job costs on a monthly and as needed basis to support accurate tracking of P&L
• Support the payroll process, including transacting tax payments and deposits to employee retirement and medical accounts
• Continue to expand knowledge, skills, and cross training to allow for personal and Company growth
• Communicating and upholding the Company’s commitment to Integrity and Code of Ethics, as well as ensuring the same for the entire team
• All Other Duties as Assigned
