A rapidly scaling technology business is hiring a Finance Manager to support a major US government program and a growing commercial portfolio. This role suits someone with strong experience in government contracting, program finance and hands on management accounting.
You will lead financial control, reporting, forecasting and contract performance for a high growth US operation.
Key responsibilities
• Monthly management accounts, financial control and general ledger ownership
• Program finance reporting for US government contracts
• DCAA, FAR, DFARS, audit preparation and compliance support
• Cost accounting, indirect rate management, cost allocations and project costing
• Revenue recognition, contract accounting and margin analysis
• Budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis and financial planning
• FP&A support across operations, engineering and leadership teams
• Building reports and dashboards in Excel and ERP systems
• Customer reporting for federal programs and government clients
• Supporting pricing, proposals, cost build-ups and commercial reviews
• Process improvement, internal controls and scaling finance operations
Essential experience
• Government contracting (DoD, DHS, federal programs, defence contractors)
• Program finance, project accounting and cost control
• Compliance with DCAA, FAR, DFARS, audit requirements
• Strong Excel (pivot tables, modelling, analysis)
• Experience in FP&A, forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis
• Hands-on management accounting in a standalone or small-team environment
• Ability to manage cost models, indirect rates, estimates to complete and cash forecasts
• Comfortable working closely with engineers, operations leaders and senior executives
Useful experience
• Startup or scale-up environments
• ERP systems such as Costpoint, SAP, Oracle, Xero, Netsuite or similar
• Working with multi-year contracts, cost-plus, fixed-price or T&M contracts
• Exposure to compliance, audits, program controls and government reporting
• Experience preparing data for proposals, bids and cost submissions
