Responsibilities
- Implement prescribed physical therapy treatments with precision, including manual therapy techniques and trigger point therapy to optimize patient outcomes.
- Assist in conducting comprehensive clinical assessments and document findings accurately in accordance with clinical documentation standards.
- Operate medical equipment safely and effectively during therapy sessions, ensuring patient safety at all times.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals such as physical therapists, physicians, nurses, and caregivers to develop and adjust individualized care plans.
- Maintain meticulous medical documentation and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations using electronic health records (EHR) management systems.
- Educate patients and their families on care plans, exercises, and post-discharge instructions to promote continued recovery outside of therapy sessions.
- Support discharge planning processes by providing detailed progress reports and recommendations for ongoing care or follow-up therapies.
Skills
- Proficiency in physiotherapy treatment implementation, including manual therapy, orthopedics, and geriatrics
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and clinical assessment documentation standards.
- Experience with inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, home health environments, outpatient clinics, or acute care is highly desirable.
- Skilled in the operation of medical equipment related to physical therapy procedures and the management of electronic health records (EHR).
- Excellent caregiver communication skills coupled with the ability to clearly explain treatment plans to clients
- Familiarity with discharge planning procedures to facilitate seamless patient transitions across care settings.
- Ability to work independently on a flexible schedule while maintaining high standards for patient safety and care quality.
Florida Background Screening Requirement:
This position requires a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Clearinghouse in accordance with Florida law. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all required background screening.
