Duties
- Assist with food production and meal preparation in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards
- Serve meals to residents or patients with excellent customer service skills, ensuring proper portioning and presentation
- Adhere to all food safety protocols, including proper handling, sanitation, cleaning, and sanitation of kitchen equipment and dining areas
- Support dietary department operations by bussing tables, cleaning utensils, and maintaining a tidy work environment
- Follow safe lifting practices during heavy lifting tasks and manual handling to prevent injury
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining workplace safety standards
- Support adherence to dietary requirements for residents with specific nutritional needs or restrictions
- Assist with inventory management and food handling procedures to ensure freshness and safety
Experience
- Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred
- Culinary experience or food service background is advantageous
- Familiarity with food production, food preparation, and sanitation practices is beneficial
- Knowledge of working with geriatric patients or individuals with special dietary needs is a plus
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic math skills for portioning and inventory management are required
- CPR certification and knowledge of workplace safety protocols are desirable
Florida Background Screening Requirement:
This position requires a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Clearinghouse in accordance with Florida law. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all required background screening.
