What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager - BAS position at Vantage Consulting?
We are looking for an organized and technically strong Building Automation Project Manager to lead BAS construction and retrofit projects in the Jacksonville region. The PM will oversee all aspects of project delivery—from kickoff to closeout—ensuring work is completed on schedule, within budget, and according to scope and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple Building Automation projects simultaneously, including scheduling, budgeting, documentation, and resource planning.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, contractors, engineers, and internal teams throughout each project.
- Review mechanical/electrical plans, control submittals, sequences of operation, and project drawings for accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate with field technicians, programmers, subcontractors, and commissioning teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Track project milestones, costs, change orders, and work-in-progress reports.
- Conduct on-site walkthroughs, progress meetings, and quality-control checks.
- Ensure all work adheres to control standards, integration requirements (BACnet, Modbus, LON, etc.), and safety protocols.
- Lead project closeout activities, including testing, commissioning support, training, and documentation delivery.
- Identify opportunities for project improvements, add-ons, or service agreements.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience managing Building Automation, HVAC controls, or related MEP projects.
- Strong understanding of BAS platforms such as Niagara, Honeywell, Distech, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Tridium, or Automated Logic.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical schedules, electrical diagrams, HVAC plans, and control sequences.
- Proven experience managing budgets, subcontractors, schedules, and customer relationships.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with project management software/tools (MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam, etc. preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally within the Jacksonville area.

Salary : $90,000 - $130,000
