Senior HR Generalist:
Our client is seeking a Senior HR Generalist to serve as a strategic partner within a manufacturing environment, supporting both employees and operational leadership. This role will play a critical part in talent acquisition, employee relations, labor relations, compliance, and workforce development while helping foster a positive, engaged, and high-performing workplace culture. The ideal candidate brings strong labor relations expertise, a collaborative leadership style, and the ability to balance people-focused initiatives with business objectives.
This role is on-site in Weston, Oregon.
Senior HR Generalist Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary HR partner for plant leadership, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and workforce planning.
- Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts for hourly and salaried positions, including sourcing, interviewing, onboarding, and new hire orientation.
- Manage labor relations activities, including contract interpretation, grievance administration, employee communications, and support during collective bargaining processes.
- Conduct employee investigations, address workplace concerns, and ensure consistent application of company policies and employment practices.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations while maintaining accurate personnel records and HR documentation.
- Administer employee benefits, leave programs, and other HR-related processes while serving as a resource for employee questions and support.
- Partner with operations leadership to drive employee engagement, retention, succession planning, and organizational development initiatives.
- Support workforce planning activities, including seasonal staffing strategies and coordination with external staffing resources when needed.
- Maintain HRIS data integrity and prepare reports, metrics, and workforce analytics to support business decision-making.
- Promote a positive workplace culture through effective communication, coaching, and employee-focused programs.
Senior HR Generalist Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5 years of progressive human resources experience, preferably within a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated labor relations experience, including contract administration, grievance resolution, and union-related matters.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including wage and hour, leave administration, equal employment practices, and workplace compliance requirements.
- Experience managing full-cycle recruiting and onboarding programs for hourly and professional-level employees.
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence leaders at all levels of an organization.
- Strong investigative, conflict resolution, and employee relations skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms and maintaining confidential employee information.
- Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) and prior leadership or supervisory experience are preferred.
