About the Role
Val Verde Regional Medical Center (VVRMC) is seeking dedicated and skilled EMT-Basic and EMT-Advanced professionals to join our EMS team. In this role, you will provide critical pre-hospital care and assist in the safe transport of patients experiencing medical, trauma, or environmental emergencies.
As part of a community-owned, nonprofit healthcare system, you will play a vital role in delivering life-saving care and supporting positive patient outcomes in high-pressure situations.
What You’ll Do
- Assess and manage patients experiencing medical, trauma, and environmental emergencies
- Provide emergency care within scope of EMT certification
- Assist with patient transport to medical facilities while ensuring safety and comfort
- Monitor patient condition and communicate changes to receiving medical teams
- Support advanced life support interventions as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and transport activities
- Collaborate with paramedics, nurses, physicians, and other emergency personnel
- Ensure all equipment and vehicles are clean, stocked, and ready for use
- Adhere to all safety, infection control, and EMS protocols
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care in high-stress environments
What We’re Looking For
- Current State of Texas EMT-Basic or EMT-Advanced certification
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills and documentation ability
- Strong communication skills (bilingual English/Spanish a plus)
- Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations
