About the Role
Val Verde Regional Medical Center (VVRMC) is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable & Payroll Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will support critical financial operations by ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and payroll.

What You’ll Do
- Process invoices and payments in accordance with purchase orders and vendor terms
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure accuracy of employee compensation
- Audit invoices against purchase orders and receiving reports for accuracy (vendor, quantity, pricing)
- Monitor and resolve discrepancies related to invoices or payments
- Prepare and maintain voucher reports and payment records
- Process vendor refunds, rebates, and cost center adjustments
- Maintain and update vendor files, including ensuring W-9 documentation is current
- Compile and submit required IRS reporting (e.g., 941s, 1099s, W-2s, 1096)
- Stay current with IRS regulations related to payroll and accounts payable
- Balance and reconcile daily payment activity
- Provide professional and timely communication when handling internal and external inquiries
- Support interdepartmental coordination, including working closely with Materials Management
- Assist with departmental process improvements and quality initiatives
- Sort and distribute interdepartmental mail as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in accounting preferred
- Minimum of 6 months of clerical accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Professional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments
