About the Role
Val Verde Regional Medical Center (VVRMC) is seeking skilled and dedicated Paramedics to join our Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team. In this role, you will provide advanced pre-hospital care, respond to emergency situations, and ensure safe transport of patients requiring urgent medical attention.
As part of a community-owned, nonprofit healthcare system, you will play a vital role in delivering life-saving interventions and supporting the health and safety of the Del Rio community.
What You’ll Do
- Assess, triage, and provide advanced life support care to patients in emergency situations
- Manage medical, trauma, and environmental emergencies in pre-hospital settings
- Perform advanced airway management, including intubation and ventilation support
- Administer medications and IV fluids in accordance with protocols
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and patient condition
- Perform procedures such as splinting, hemorrhage control, spinal immobilization, and extrication
- Provide pain management and stabilize patients for transport
- Ensure safe and efficient patient transport to medical facilities
- Maintain accurate and timely patient care documentation
- Collaborate with EMTs, nurses, physicians, and other emergency personnel
- Maintain ambulance readiness, including equipment checks and supply management
- Follow all safety, infection control, and EMS operational protocols
- Communicate clearly and effectively in high-pressure situations
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- Current State of Texas Paramedic certification (EMT-P)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills and documentation ability
- Strong communication skills (bilingual English/Spanish a plus)
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress environments
