Tax Manager

CPA required; Public accounting experience required

As a Tax Manager, you will need to have the following experiences:

1. Real estate partnership tax returns - REIT, 1065s, capital balance tracking (non-negotiable)
2. Manager-level reviewer - must be able to flag issues independently to signing partners, not just prepare
3. ProSystemFX experience preferred; platform adaptability acceptable if niche experience is strong

Tax Manager responsibilities:

• Tax Compliance & Review: Oversee and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns (including 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120S) prepared by staff and senior accountants.
• Client Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor to a portfolio of clients (e.g., high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, closely held businesses) by providing strategic tax planning and consulting.
• Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and supervise junior staff. Manage workflow, delegate projects, and assist with performance evaluations.
• Technical Research: Research advanced and multi-state tax issues to identify tax-saving opportunities and minimize tax liabilities.

Education:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting required

Work Experience:

• 5 years of tax experience

Certification

• Licensed and active CPA required

Knowledge and skills:

• Self-starter who can lead projects with minimal supervision from management
• Proven leadership experience
• Ability to thrive in team-based settings
• Desire to take on the responsibility of leading a team of tax professionals
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to learn quickly and thrive in fast-paced environment
• Vigorous work ethic and high-performance standards
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
