Title: Senior Cloud Architect/ Information Security Specialist

Location: Downey, CA, 90242 (Hybrid)

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Position Overview

The Senior Information Security Specialist I / Cloud Architect is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of endpoint security platforms and cloud network infrastructure. This includes planning, deployment, configuration, optimization, and ongoing operational support across enterprise environments.

The role combines deep expertise in endpoint security, vulnerability management, and advanced cloud networking (AWS & Azure), ensuring secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure solutions. The candidate will collaborate closely with customer IT teams to integrate security solutions and optimize deployment strategies across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

Endpoint Security & Deployment

• Lead deployment and operational support of endpoint security platforms and associated applications
• Manage full lifecycle: customer engagement, planning, installation, optimization, and support
• Perform remote and on-site installation of endpoint security solutions
• Troubleshoot deployment issues across small to large enterprise environments
• Develop and automate deployment scripts and processes
• Track, plan, and report software deployment status

Security & Vulnerability Management

• Analyze and remediate Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs)
• Support vulnerability and asset management initiatives
• Integrate security solutions with existing enterprise tools
• Provide technical troubleshooting for security applications

Cloud Networking & Architecture

• Design, configure, and operate network infrastructure across AWS and Azure environments
• Architect highly available, fault-tolerant, multi-region and multi-AZ cloud solutions
• Implement hybrid connectivity using:
• AWS Transit Gateway
• Azure ExpressRoute
• Design and manage multi-cloud and hybrid architectures, including Megaport integration

Traffic & Network Engineering

• Manage ingress/egress traffic flows and optimize routing
• Configure and maintain Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) in cloud/hybrid environments
• Implement load balancing solutions:
• AWS Elastic Load Balancing
• Azure Load Balancer
• Azure Application Gateway

Security & Infrastructure

• Deploy and manage:
• Cloud-native firewalls
• Third-party virtual appliances (e.g., Palo Alto VM-Series, Cisco CSR 8000v)
• Configure network security controls:
• AWS Security Groups
• Azure Network Security Groups (NSGs)
• Network ACLs
• Design secure architectures aligned with compliance standards

Collaboration & Support

• Work closely with customer IT and engineering teams
• Provide clear communication of complex technical issues
• Deliver high-quality customer service and technical guidance

Required Skills

Technical Expertise

• Strong knowledge of CVEs, threat mitigation, and remediation techniques
• Deep understanding of software deployment technologies
• Operating Systems: Windows, Linux, macOS
• Scripting: PowerShell, Python, Perl, Bash, Batch

Tools & Platforms

• Vulnerability tools: OpenVAS, Nessus, Burp Suite
• Scanning tools: Qualys, Tenable, Rapid7 Nexpose/InsightVM
• Deployment tools:
• SCCM, Group Policy
• McAfee ePO, IBM BigFix
• Puppet, Chef
• Citrix, PDQ, PsExec
• CrowdStrike

Cloud & Networking

• AWS & Azure networking services
• VPC/VNet design and peering
• Hybrid connectivity and multi-cloud architecture
• Megaport services (VXC provisioning)
• Traffic engineering and segmentation

Experience Requirements

Core Experience

• Minimum 4 years in IT deployments or end-user/customer environments

Advanced Experience

• 6 years in cloud network engineering (AWS & Azure)
• 4 years designing high-availability and disaster recovery architectures
• 4 years hands-on with advanced cloud networking (Transit Gateway, ExpressRoute, etc.)
• 4 years working with Megaport services (VXC, hybrid/multi-cloud connectivity)
• 4 years in traffic engineering, segmentation, and firewall deployment

Education & Certifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related field
• One of the following:
• CISSP (or equivalent)
• CompTIA Security
• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

Preferred / Additional

• AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate
