Job Summary
The Production Planner I is responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring the flow of materials throughout the production cycle. This role ensures efficient coordination of materials, supports continuous production flow, and helps meet on-time delivery requirements. This is an entry-level position where the individual will work under supervision, performing routine tasks while developing foundational planning and production skills.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Plan, schedule, and monitor material movement through the production process
- Create, set up, and release work orders to ensure continuous production flow
- Coordinate material availability to meet customer delivery timelines
Material Coordination
- Ensure efficient movement of materials across production stages
- Track and monitor inventory and production status
- Support timely fulfilment of customer orders
Process Improvement & Reporting
- Identify and participate in process improvement opportunities
- Support tracking and reporting of key performance metrics
- Assist in improving operational efficiency and workflow
System & Tools Usage
- Utilize multiple systems and tools including:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
- SAP and other production/planning systems
- Quickly learn and adapt to new software platforms
Required Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Typically less than 1 year of relevant experience (entry-level role)
Skills
- Strong computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Office Suite
- Basic knowledge or exposure to SAP or similar systems (preferred)
- Ability to learn new tools and systems quickly
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Dependable and able to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
